I'm not happy with the result because the fill-in beam is now too low. Because I've modified the globes' mounts to make the globes sit at an angle, I've ordered new globes (4300K this time instead of 3000K). However as the sloped globes only lowered the lower edge of the beam, I suspect the beam will still be too low. My guess is that only about a 2mm spacer is required.

Thanks for the update, Graeme. Has anyone had a response from LRA to the questions: "What is the purpose of the halogen fill in lights?" "What is the intended/designed aim of the halogen lights?" If the halogen lights do not comply with their purpose and design then they are not 'fit for purpose' and are therefore defective and must be replaced by Land Rover with lights that do comply with their purpose and design, unlike the lights we now have that "do comply with ADRs".

Once you get used to the line of dark/light with Bi Zenon on low beam they are OK but I have been having problems of one shutter sticking on High causing a number of annoyed oncoming drivers. The only advice I have found in the aulro is flick the dipper switch until it unsticks. Anyone know of a more permanant fix?

HID globes with unmodified bases produce quite an intense beam from the road verges to part-way up the average roadside tree trunk so for me the beam needs no further adjustment. I may in time refit the 3000K globes with their bases re-instated if the intense white light on the verges makes long night drives too tiring. However 4300K definitely light the verges better at dusk than the 3000K.
