    The Carpooter has Gone Imperial

    Hi All

The carpooter on my brother in-law’s D3 has gone imperial….. measuring range, distance travelled and average speed (everything except fuel consumption) in imperial units.

He has tried the fix mentioned in the manual, and no joy……

    Any ideas?

I came across one like this when I was working in a Dealer. IIRC it required a instrument cluster replacement...

There is a lot of user selectable stuff if you have the steering wheel audio controls (hi end radio). Some of it is the display units.

Just the bog standard one....... so it is looking like a replacement.....

I wasn't around when he tried it so couldn't tell you for sure, but i think it is a sequence of buttons here and there (steering wheel etc). I presume it is a feature that allows you to choose imperial or metric units for the computer......

    Don't panic ; no action required .

    I wish it was a typo , but ............

There is no reason to "have to" change anything you know .
The dials are the same as before , as is the consumption.
It's only the bl**dy central trip/empty dist and temp . Who cares ?
I like Fahrenheit .......... fifty something doesn't sound
as cold as low teens centigrade

If it were my D3..... for the sake of $3500 I would be getting used to imperial units........ I fancy my Brother in-law will be doing the same for that money
