Land Rover quality control "quirky"? Hmmm - if you ever needed it, here's some (more) proof. A few days after I picked up my 3.0 SE I noticed there were no model badges on the tailgate. Actually hadn't thought about whether there should be or not - but then saw another D4 with TDV6 3.0 SE branded on its butt. Checked the website, and yes, of course the pics show badges (SE, HSE etc etc).
Asked the local dealer about this, and they said yep - some D4's have turned up with badges and some without! Apparently LR is "out of stock" of said badges at present, but will be shipping them direct to affected dealers using vin / chassis number records - which makes me think they know which vehicles missed out!
Not holding my breath for them to turn up - and in any case, it ain't really a big deal. Doesn't change the way the thing drives. Food for thought tho!

Mine's waiting for its RHS badge too but I thought it was because it was removed after being poorly applied, but maybe not!

I would call that a supplier issue, rather than a quality control issue. If they are sending the badges out according to VIN, then they know where the problem is.

On that score..... the early D3 V6's were branded "V6 SE"...... Mine just says "SE"..... while the TDV6 retains the "TDV6 SE" anyone have any idea why they changed?

Yep..........I kind of like the "quirkiness"..........but then again I spent lots of years working on British aircraft so I could be biased !!!!
If the designers could put a nut or bolt in a really hard to reach spot....that's where they would put it.....
Leave the OE badges off and get a new one made up "Toyota recovery vehicle" in the same style !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
