Don't know about the D4, but on the D3 there was a TMC module that was omitted. IF you obtained one, it should be easy to plug in, but you'd need to have it activated.
I asked this Question on the Disco3 site but I suppose its more Oz related.
I was wondering if one of the Lurking Land Rover Techs knows if the TMC is just simply disabled on the Oz spec Nav or if its a module that needs adding.
We do have a TMC system in Oz provided by Suna my guess is there must be some licensing that manufactures have to pay to be able to say their Nav systems work with Suna.

Can the TMC be enabled on the D4 Nav system?

Sorry to be a while answering, but i only get so much lurking timeCan the TMC be enabled on the D4 Nav system?
The D4 has exactly the same CCF as the D3 and as such anything that can be enabled on the D3, such as TMC can be done on the D4 too.
How do I get the TMC enabled?
You can get a dealer to activate it or you can buy a faultmate from Colin (BBS Guy) and activate it yourself.
First, though, you will need to find out if you need the module or if there's one already installed.
(Just incase you don't know, the CCF Colin refers to is the Car Configuration File on the main ECU)
Ok after digging around and asking some questions.
It comes down to the simple fact that Land Rover don't have a licensing agreement with Suna Traffic Control.
"Suna GPS Traffic Updates are provided via a subscription based service as an encrypted transmission, and as such the receiving devices need to be capable of decoding the information.
Devices capable of decoding this transmission are available from those companies with which we have a commercial agreement (please check here for specific device information - SUNA - GPS Traffic Updates).
Unfortunately at this time we do not have a commercial agreement with Land Rover. For further information regarding Land Rover’s plans, I would encourage you to continue checking with the manufacturer themselves for service availability information."
Hi ian,"Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails. If you still wish to send an email to this user, please contact the administrator and they may be able to help."
Sorry for the late reply as i have just returned late last night from a week off in the new beast & not had emails while i was away, just wanted some piece & quiet while away with the family.
I tried to email a esponse but your email is set up to not receive email from the specified address !? This is the message i received when trying to email you back..
So by the time i made a coffee & some lunch for the munchkins, i see you have found your answer.

Don't be sorry... Time with family is always a priority.
I have now written to LR Australia asking them when they will make arrangements with Suna Traffic Channel.
I think if more owners make noise about it then we might see some action.
A response from Land Rover on TMC.
Just note as you read this the RDS-TMC was developed to a standard. What I believe this comes down to is Land Rover Australia not wanting to spend money on licensing. Overseas its actually the customer who pays for the service.
