    Questions for D4 Owners

Does your start button have a light behind it?

For those with a rear camera.

Do the yellow guide lines bend when turn you steering wheel?

I have one ordered but no delivery until April. The consensus on the disco3.co.uk website seems to show that most (but not all!) D4's with the rear camera, but not the 5 camera system, have permanent straight lines showing on the rear camera. The flexi ones are only if you get 5 cameras. I note that the LR brochure has some very "cute" wording which initially led me to believe that it had the bending tyre lines on the rear camera only. It also seems that while there is a spot where the fuel burning heater is located for cold climate D3's which could fit a battery, the area is just too hot to keep a battery long term.

Yeah, glows red, only when lights on
Lines on rear camera don't really bend but show where you will be when you get to end lines (does that make sense)

And the tow hookup yellow line does bend when you turn the steering wheel. Very cool.

    Heres another one for you...

    Driver side rear window...

From the drivers control the window goes up fully then comes back down to half by its self? The only way to get it to close is by it own switch.

Oh and my start button decided to light up to night...

Today for the 1st time my vehicle started on the 1st ignition ON cycle, rather than the normal 3rd or 4th on/off cycle. I don't know if its because I waited for the 'press OK' message that comes after the 'press the brake' message before pressing OK then trying to start it, or whether it just had a change of heart for today. Maybe tomorrow it will be back to its normal self, wanting an OK for several steering lock messages as well.

Sounds like it needs to be reset. In some cars it's hold all the way up for five, and then hold all the way down for five. Could well be different for LR though.

The vehicle has a problem starting each morning, but thankfully OK other starts during the day.

The procedure is to hold the brake pedal depressed then press the start button, whereupon it should start. Morning starts fail this procedure, requiring multiple attempts to get past the instrument cluster rmessages. I usually see several times a message requesting the OK button be pressed to acknowledge that the steering is locked followed by a message requesting the OK button be pressed to acknowledge that I need to press the brake pedal, which is already pressed! Somewhere in the confusion I press the start button with my foot off the brake pedal, so the ignition goes off. So I try again and often several more agains before it eventually starts. It cheeses me off actually.

OK I understand...it's a fault. Certainly the D4 isn't designed to operate that way which is what threw me. I assume you have the shifter in N or P.
