    Door Open Dinga - RRS

How do you turn off the door open dinga when the keys are in the ignition. I am loading my car up at the moment and have all the doors open but need the ignition on to run the fridge.

The dinga is annoying the crap out of me.

    Thanks

    Side cutters?

My 2IC on Norfolk Island did that to my company car when he had it whilst I was on leave. He did fit a switch to enable it as needed.

You'd probably need Rovacom or similar for a Rangie.

You could flick the door lock catch into the closed position. Just remember to release it before you slam the door .

I asked Land Rover this very same question about an hour ago. According to them it can't be stopped, which I find a bit strange as they managed to disable the seatbelt dinga, which was just as annoying.

The signal/circuit from the door switches must be controlled by a fuse somewhere...

I had all the alarms switched off in my L322 when I got it serviced by a private LR mechanic.I don't need the car to tell me how to drive it. Pat

The signal is received from the door latch & sent to the CJB, which in turn communicates with the Instrument pack & signals the chime, Which by the way in the Australian Market Cant be switched off via the dealers ISD/SSD.

But in some circumstances, if you stick the seat belt strap end into the seat belt stalk & press the release button 10 times from memory within 5 seconds, it may turn off. It was something like that, may have to do a search..

    Cheers

If I recall correctly, to switch the seat belt dinger off is turn the ignition switch to I, then plug in / release the belt 10 times within 30 seconds. If that doesn't work, then it's turn the ignition to II.

I keep meaning to do this with mine, the bloody bongers drive me mental. I know the whole lot can be switched off somehow, but the dealer's can't won't do it, has to be a knowledgeable independant.

Alto were very good and turned off the seat belt dinga through the computer when they serviced my car a while back but according to them they have no way of disabling the key in the ignition dinga, despite getting plenty of requests to do so.

They said that the chime comes from behind the instrument panel so there is no way of getting to it to cut any wires etc.
