I fitted the Tekonsha to my D3, the biggest issue was where to mount it, I diddnt want it at my knee which complicated the installation as it ended up where the ashtray was.

The cable run was easy due to the trim that runs along the doors

    Steve,

Search for a thread on trailer brake controller for D4 by Sneigy. He has layed out step by step instructions including photos. I used them for my D4 to install a P3. Absolutely no problems and if you have any handyman tendancies then you will be able to do it.

    Cheers

We've got the Teconsha P3 installed on our RRS and so far it has worked a treat. We recently bought a Ultimate Camper and the local auto-electrician in Moruya installed the electrics for us.

    All,
Anyone can fit an Electric Trailer Brake unit.
Admittantly it is only 4 wires.

    But . . . . . .

It's the modifications that need to be done to get it to work safely & not put the owner at risk & in any Danger

I fitted one to my D3 and later to the D4. Now Austral in Brisbane claim the air bags are in the way. Bollocks There are no airbags above the brake and accelerator pedal which is where the controller will be screwed. Now its a matter of finding the wires to the pre-installed 12 pin tow plug.

Just a thought .... you might find more relevant info/help in this section of the forum (L405/L494):
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/l405-l494-range-rover/

You'd have an L494 RRS that you are fitting out if it's current year.
I'd guess a couple of owners have done what you're doing.
For example, a thread on UHF antenna mounting:

A TowPro fits very neatly to the lower left side of the steering column on my 2014 RRS. Sneigy at MLR did an excellent job of fitting it.
    Cheers, Alan
