If buying secondhand TD V8

G'day
First timer here. I'm currently looking at buying a RR sport L320 but I have never owned a landy before so got a few Q's regarding different sorts. Hopefully some can enlighten me before purchasing one. Unless a thread similar to this has already been covered, then pls point me to the right direction.
Looking at the 2005 and later models. It will be used mainly as a daily driver and soft offroading - beach and bush. Nothing hard that it will rip bumpers to smashing sumps. Also I won't be towing anything heavy unless I've gotta help a mate tow a car float.
So...
What are some of the things I need to look at before purchasing...
2.7lt TDV6 vs. 3.0lt TDV6/SDV6 - Reliability, Performance, Economy, Parts$$$, Aftermarket Performance, How many K's is the motor good for before it starts to hit me in the pocket???
I also do like the TDV8 but comparison to the V6, long term cost in insurance, rego and maintenance will cost more. But it's an option.
The supercharge would be top of the pick but with petrol prices soaring, can't see myself having one for years on. Thinking of keeping this vehicle for at least 10yrs. I'm at a point where having 2 toys (offroader and drag) and a daily driver isn't suiting my current lifestyle so I need to go from 3 to 1.
Cheers Big Ears.......
If buying secondhand TD V8

It will be a secondhand purchase but with low k's as possible. Seen a few TDV8 but k's are around the 100k mark and above. Know much about the V8's?
I would assume that now that you can no longer buy a new RR Sport in a V8 TD, the price of second hand ones would increase.
If you do want the V8, don't hesitate.
BTW - 100K for a V8 TD.......or a V6 TD, is nothing.
Cheers, Craig
My wife's RRS is great, i drive a fair range of Toyota's and it took alot to get her out of a Landcruiser, she wont be going back, only one item out of service has been a rear tail shaft, stick got in and wrecked the boot on the CV and driven clunking until too late, mail order the part in from the UK and saved a heap 4xs.
On my second TDV8 both to date have been fantastic. Have a look at RRSport.co.uk, seems to be no real issue with TDV8 all comments about the engines have been good.
Just acquired a RRS TDV8 after swapping Disco3 and Deefer 130. Life throws you curve balls and as result I didn't need the 7 seat disco family wagon anymore...the Deefer was getting a handful so did the deed for the Ranger.
2008 TDV8 with 100k kms on the clock....she drives beautifully. A very jealous mate who lives in Landcruiser wagons and Prado's couldn't pick the age or kms when he drove it. No squeaks, rattles, oil drops or faults.
And that engine....awesome, ****ing awesome.
I thought the Disco3 TDV6 was a good drive, but the (similar) RRS just lifts the game......

I love my 2.7Ltr TDV6 D4, but
If I was to get a Sport it WOULD be a TDV8. Just Sensational !
The engines are great no issues at all, only small kink in it armour is not engine related but Suspension!
They have a system called Dynamic Response which is std on TDV8 (or what D2 owners had called ACE-active cornering enhancement) It is an option on TDV6's also, easy way to tell is Brembo's on front discs, 19" rims & yellow reservoir on drivers side in engine bay.
Basically the stabilizer bars runs through a hydraulic SCREW RAM which limits body roll to next to nothing, awesome on a race trackbut can give a knock in the suspension. To check remove fuse 14 from memory & drive again & the knock will be gone as you have just locked the ram & gotten rid of the only issue.
Drive one! You won't regret it.
Where are you ,as i know a guy who has one with 19k for sale,3L.
Been VERY well looked after, the guy is a LR nut.
