New tires for my 2010 sports TDV8

My sports needs new rubber as the continetals have gone with only about 20k k's on them. Very disapointed with them. The goodyears on my last sports were good for 38k k's. I don't expect to do much offroading with the 20 inch rims on as I have a set of 19's that I use if going any more than light dirt roads or sand.

I am lookinmg at the cooper h/t plus which look ok, I can't see much else that looks good but am keen on what other are using

Have you looked at the Continental CrossContact? I think the closest size is 275/40R20, but also available in 265/50R20 (larger diameter tyre). Supposed to be a good long-wearing tyre.

    Cheers,

    HJF,

Cooper ZEON LTZ I think do a 20 in which might be worth looking into but it sounds as if you are looking for an almost pure road trye so the LTZ might be a bit all terrain for that.

Otherwise I think I have seen someone with the "NEXAN" brand tyres on 20 in rims but can not b sure.

    Best of luck.

    George

Friend in the UK with 20" rims on his Sport always runs Hankook Ventus ST's, reckons on getting 30,000 miles from a set as long as he has the alignment done to keep it in check. I've certainly seen a few Sport's & Toerags round these parts on them so I assume they're available in Oz.

I've had Cooper H/T on my P38 for 5 yrs...they've only done 40,000 km and have 5mm tread left. Although they're on 16" rims they have stiff walls and pick up every minor imperfection in the road surface even when running 29 psi front and 35 psi rear... That being said they got us to Cape York and back without hassle (no punctures etc) 18m ago.

I couldn't in all honesty recommend them... I'm looking for something else...perhaps Yokahama Geolanders... others have reported that the Pirelli Scorpions are also "hard" in terms of ride...

There seems to be a lot of variation in price which is not necessarily consistent with all round quality/...

Hoges the Geolander don't do a 20inch and on my last Sports the Yokahama Advan didn't last more than about 20k k's.

I have used the Hankook Ventus ST's on both 2008 TDV8 sport, and also on my 2010 TDV8. Much better tyre than the Contis, you can buy 4 from St George Tyres online in Sydney, 880 bucks. Delivery from them was also cheap.
If you are not going offroad I found these very good tyre.
