    RRS 2007 luggage area

    Hi Forumites,
My RRS has seven seats fitted, looks like a factory fitment very professional etc etc. However I am really going to struggle fitting a small drawer arrangement and still retain access to the spare wheel raising and lowering nut.
My intention is to remove the sixth and seventh seats and fit possibly the original panel that goes were the seat are now.
Could someone please send me a photo or two of what the back of the sport looks like with the rear luggage space lid / cover removed. I'm not sure if the bracketing that now holds the seats in place is there originally or something that has been welded in after. The seats are leather the same as the vehicle with head rests the whole lot, complete with retracting seat belts, I'm hoping to move these on if it is possible to emove all the necessary bracketing.
I know it is a pity to remove the seats but I have no use for them and they only hinder me preparing the vehicle for a spot of touring. I want to put some low drawers in the back and a small shelf in to put the 40l Engle on anchored to the existing tie down points. I've done this in two previous D3's and it works well.
The Sport looks to be shorter in the back than the D3 I'm just hoping I have enough depth to get the fridge in without being unable to shut the rear hatch.
    Thanks for any help rendered.

I assume the extra seats are rear facing - I had heard that these could be obtained after market for the RRS.

The RRS is shorter and has a shorter wheelbase than the D3 so floor length in the rear is shorter than the D3. However I have a 55l ebay no name fridge and it will fit in the rear on the passenger side lengthwise with enough clearance to shut the top door so your 40l should fit Ok.

    Cheers

    Hi Garry,
Actually they face forward. Yes a bit tricky to get into and only rated for 75 kg / seat, however they look like they belong there.

I've just tried to take the polystyrene tool holder out of the boot so I could photograph the cavity for you, but it's held in by the 2 panels either side which are bolted down, so it's a bit of a dismantling exercise I'm afraid. They in turn are held in by the panel across the back round the locking mechanism...

If it is on some kind of existing brackets though then it sounds like a great idea to me, could do with some of those myself to turn it into a 7 seater for when the outlaws come a-visitin !

    Hi Mike,
I didn't mean for you to go to to much trouble, I just wanted a shot where the sides of the polystyrene tool holder thing locates on both sides. I took the tool holder out of my D3 and wrecked it in the process. No need my friend, I appreciate the efforts you've gone to. Any general shots with the lid lifted would be great.
