    Range rover sport 07 tdv6 won't start

Hi guys new to the forum,
My beloved sport won't start, the rundown of what occurred is the wife rang me and said it won't start and is clicking, beauty thought just needs a new battery.
So I check the battery and has a full 12 volts so amps must be down, car is also display all faults etc, hdc failure, gearbox failure, handbrake release failure.
So I call our local battery place and borrow a battery.
Put it in and nothing, I noticed that the glow plug light is not coming on now with the reds.
So I Google computer clear and the old connect a wire from the positive to the negative lead (unhooked) is tried, still nothing, wont even turn engine over.
    I need help, any ideas?
    Thanks matt

Is there a starter fuse? The last thing you want it to be is the immobiliser module on the steering column. Last I heard these could not be bought separately.

Maybe the alternator has packed it in - the diodes have a (bad) history of sometimes going short circuit when they die - quickly draining the battery.

Is there a way you can tell if the immobiliser module has packed it in?

My guess considering the clicking and all the faults is a low voltage problem, possibly due to a bad earth. What voltage at the battery positive cable terminal (not the battery post) using the earth stud in front of the battery box whilst trying to crank?

my daughter had non starting RR sport it was a push button start type, computer must see foot on bake before it will allow the car to start, it turned out to be faulty switch, she also had a new battery replaced a couple of months prior which could have been the same problem causing random faults?
