When I was looking at S/H D4s to buy a victorian vehicle I had to de-register it,get a vic permit to the boarder which covered SA from memory, then had to have a WA permit for WA.
I ended up buying new in WA.

    Hi Andrew,
Not sure about this....my understanding...and this may well be wrong....is with QLD Unreg permit I can drive home to NSW as I am driving a car register from QLD...for the length of time I had asked for. In this case three days. The first day was nearly finished at 1700 hours as the clock starts at 00:01.

Plus now home......boy what a car to drive....so much get up and go and only a tank full of fuel to get back...about 9.5litres per 100kms...as per distance v fuel used at browser.

Had a few beers now with little sleep...so apologises for ramble on!! ha ha...should that be ho ho ho...Merry Christmas!!

    Got home ok.

Few issues at start....battery flat and no fuel.

Once charged ok...needs a good clean and I have a few things to look at....some extra wires which looks like they were for solar panels. Electric brakes....and???

Cannot get tailgate open and it is not closed correctly. One for after Xmas.

Rego today so can drive about.

    Thanks,

    Chilly

WA is the only state which doesn'[t play ball. A permit issued in QLD is good for NSW and Vic (personal experience) ans probably SA as well.
