    Splash guards.....Try rivnuts

    Hi There,
Just a short hints and tips, I couldn't find anything posted in the past posts about this. I bought a Rivnut kit off fleabay, $80 with over 1000 rivnuts of varying sizes.

I've now replaced all the splash guard "clip nut" things with rivnuts, makes getting the splash guard off and back on again so so much easier. I used the ally ones first to make sure everything lined up that way they were easier to drill out if it didn't work.

Now installed the cad plated rivnuts, looks very neat.

    Cheers Marty.

    Hi There,
I knew it..!!!! Sorry no I didn't, I put the splash guards back on, dropped Rex to the floor and realised that was what I should have done. I'm off today for a dental "procedure", if I can still see straight later on I'll take the splash guards off and post some pictures, doesn't take five minutes to get them off now .

    Cheers Marty

Does sound like a worthwhile mod, as those black press in clips are a pain in the proverbial, and stupidly priced too.

    Hi Dave,
Splash guards underneath, not the ones in the wheel arch, I was contemplating the wheel arch splash shields, there are a couple you can't get the tool into to compress the rivnut to get it to grip. The majority of the easy to get to ones should be OK.
