    Td6 v Tdv6

    Hi Guys,
Posed a similar question in the L322 forum but it was diesel v petrol. I would really prefer a diesel RR over a D3. I would love the extra space of the L322 but my budget, 20k-30k, limits me to the Td6 and options are limited in SE Qld. I've trawled both forums and found that, even though opinions on L322 v L320 is divided, there are those that have been happy to own both. I guess it comes down to do I give up the space of the L322 and find the best buy L320 2.7.
Btw, what's the deal with quicksales? Descriptions not matching the heading is a nightmare.
    Cheers
    Steve

Steve I've owned both the L320 (bought new in 2010) and now the L322 TDV8 (a 2012 model, last of the series.)
My L320 had the 3.0 TDV6, which is an advance on the 2.7 - much more power and torque, smoother etc. Excellent engine. We used it for a long trip through the Kimberley.
Compared with my L322 the Sport felt much more 'enclosed' in the front - the dashboard feels much closer to the driver and passenger. The L322 is a much airier feeling interior.
Having said that, the rear load space of the L320 is far more usable than the L322, even though a bit smaller. The rear seats in the Sport fold completely flat (same as the Disco), whereas the L322's rear seats don't, the seat backs fold forward and then the whole seat has to be folded again, up against the back of the front seats, leaving an awkwardly uneven rear floor.
That's the main thing I miss about the Sport for long trips. Other than that, the L322 is a far superior long distance cruiser.

Have a look at Lorbek , I've purchased from them .
But you can get an idea of pricing , they have 2010 on 3.0l diesel from approx 59k a 5-6 year older v8 vogue will be less than half that asking price and have 2x the kms .

I went for a later sport as the engine / power train is a belter , the v8 sounds better tho , but there isn't an argument that can convince me the 3.0l is 'underpowered' !
They are lovely vehicles , the older ones would "feel" warmer at least that's how my Ol Lady described the P38 we had prior to this one .

Drive a couple and get a feel , lower kms will not equate to a better car , many of these are used to ferry kids to school in the inner city ,

whilst others waft powerfully built managing directors to lunches !

Some colours are really stunning , some combos of ex/interior are bizarre , so always take a moment to think ' could I live with that ? '

Good Luck with the search , later models are avail at reasonable prices , keep in mind ongoing maintenance can be pricey - eg timing belts @. 160k or 6 yrs is a $2500 job , most other maintenance is relatively straightforward ( note I said relatively ! )
