I'm sure the goo will great when one gets a rip in the side wall from a sharp rock!. I suppose Land rover thinks buyers will only drive on the tarmac and do one goes off road in them.

    Hi Stuart02,
I've had a couple of P38's, the 4.6 HSE model. Beautiful vehicle however both were plagued with suspension issues, only minor but irritating, mainly to do with the valve block. The engines and drive lines I found to be great, the internal comfort exceptional one of the many reasons they were over $100k new. I picked up two good examples for around the $10k mark a few years ago. Coil conversion kit could well be the go, both of mine wee on air.
It's worth the experience if you have time and the weekends to spare and around $7 to $10k for a reasonable one. They are getting a bit "long in the tooth" now, I doubt I would have another one.

    Cheers Marty

    Hi,
Purchased my TDV8 RRS 2008 at APPROX. 192000KMS. Sight unseen from an auction.
    Expected a few issues.
Front Anti Roll Bar was leaking. Replaced! From Lrdirect
    Full service.

    Issues since:
Squeak from Near Side Front. Front Air bag strut replacement. Small cracks at top of strut. From Lrdirect
Alternator died. New Alternator. From Lrdirect
Currently got a rattle from front of engine. Expect belt tensioner as fault. Happened last night so have to investigate.
Air Compressor leak. Fixed as per suggestion from RRSort.co.uk. All good for 8 months.

Awesome to drive. Love driving my TDV8 RRS!

    O..new brake pads too: Karcraft.

Hope this gives you an insight to ownership. Note, this was an auction purchased car with mostly full service history used for towing a big caravan.

    Chilly

Thanks so much for all the info,
The RRS TDV8 i was after sold but have another couple to look at sitting on 130oookms, and also a 2.7 TDV6 with similar kms. Leaning to the TDV8 as ive done more research on them than the TDV6's, but theres $2-3k difference so that might be a factor. see how we go

thanks again for the tips and info

Re the dynamic dampers on TDV8 2010 switching mode to "Sport" ie the twisty road symbol makes bugger all difference on TDV8. There was a thread on RRS.co.uk about this. Apparently on the Supercharged model it changes throttle a bit and suspension a bit. But on TDV8 everything remains same except for some claimed small changes to suspension. I reckon you would have to be a race car driver doing timed laps to pick any difference I certainly couldn't Buying my First RR SPORT!
