    RRS reverse camera position

    Hi guys

Went to hook up my caravan this afternoon and even with slightly longer tow hitch I cannot see the tow ball on my reverse camera due to the camera positioning . Very bad design where the camera located .

Question is has anyone try to relocate the camera position (Eg next to the number plate light ) comparing to my D4 this is really bad .

    Any advise would be great

    Thank you

I have an aftermarket reverse camera fitted near the tailgate opener. I can't see the towball either but I've put a bit of tape on the bumper which tells me where the ball is and I reverse to that plus another inch in. Works well.

    Camera

I agree the position is stupid. No thought given to people who tow. I have been looking at D4 type number plate cameras on ebay. Prices vary greatly. I would think we would need a PAL style camera for Australian delivered cars.
This is what I bought. For $11 worth the risk. The item number is 272981060908 Not delivered yet.

I had an aftermarket unit installed with 3 cameras 1 on rear bumper & 2 on the back of the van ( 1 rear vision & 1 directly down the back of the van).
Screen is aftermarket rear vision mirror that clips over factory mirror .

Works sensationally now for over 3 yrs.
Can reverse up to van within mm to drop van onto DO35 hitch.

I looked at this one for my D3 but thought it's 120 deg angle would not put the towball in the picture and you can't adjust the angle, some others around $20 had 170 deg view. Can you see the towball? I just clicked buy on a small square camera which I can angle to get the towball in view.
