    First tow.... *sigh*

    20190315_105739-.jpg

Turning into work this morning and a soft 'pop' and the back corner instantly dropped whilst cornering... Parked it and there's a puddle of oil under the front and splattered over the inside of the RHF wheel. Off to the Indy to investigate and fix now (juuuuuust within the allowable tow distance ). Likely one of the ACE hoses to the rear has ruptured so I'm hoping it's quick and relatively inexpensive. C1119 flagged (hydr. pressure). I've had ongoing issues with just about anything in the rear RH corner of the engine bay since I got the car and I suspect this is just another one to iron out. When i called her this morning, SWMBO told me to look on the bright side as every one of these issues gets me a step closer to fully fixed. A motto we can all live by

Now have to slum it in a non-Land Rover to get home.... Yuck

Sorry to hear but luckily still within the towing range. Let us know what it is when you have a chance. (something for me to prepare for one day perhaps)

One of the ACE hoses burst. No reason obvious. From the valve block to the front actuator (sway bar). Now trying to find parts as it seems to be an unheard of failure... no parts in Oz. Lucky me. Quote from LRParts of a bit under $750 landed ($300 of that freight) for the full four-pipe harness or $200 less just for that one individually. Waiting on the Indy to weave his sourcing magic and see what he can do Monday morning.

Just when you have it'll be time to move it on for something else from the Land Rover stable. Or maybe not.

Hmmm , I burst one in Tassie - it was a typical LR repair .......as in expensive !

Cost was approx $2300.00 , the pipeworks are a complete unit to the junction just under the drivers side front door .
To replace was a body lift / raised job .
The fluid is ahem rather pricey approx $70/ litre -STC 50519- there is a Penrite equivalent tho or Texaco CC33270
the ACE pipe was part number LRO15144 @ $610.00 , description was ACE pipe front kit

i was trying to find a pic of the pipe can update if you like .

once fixed All was good again , however the dash lit up in Red ! And we had to be on the boat on a Sunday afternoon .....

LR019388 was the one that went in mine. Looking to possibly get the full harness (all four pipes) RQA500018 but we'll see what's available. Thankfully caught it early so there will be no other damage. Indy stocks all of the right oils and only uses genuine.
Interesting to hear that this "unheard of" failure had happened to at least one other...

If the pipe can be removed then take it to an hydraulic hose specialist who should be able to fit connectors to the pipe to allow a suitable hydraulic hose to be fabricated.

That was my first thought and is my fall-back if genuine parts are to exxy or hard to get. Fairly straightforward repair for the hydraulic mobs to do.

That has always been my first port of call for any Hydraulic hose. As soon as someone gives something a Part Number the price seems to quadruple just for a sticker or a cardboard tag.

For me, I reckon your price is already "exxy".
