Assistance needed, 2008 RR 4.2 supercharged sport- reversing camera fitting

    Hello All
My Sister recently got a 2008 V8 Supercharged Rangie. This model doesn't seem to have a reversing camera setup, whether that is an option? I can't tell. Asking to see if these models have a camera feed connection at the display so I could just wire up a reverse camera to the existing display get a software U/G maybe and power away.

    Thanks in advance Shannon

Looking at the wiring schematics, both the highline and lowline entertainment systems have a video feed at the display screen. The highline's is connected to the TV tuner whereas the lowline's isn't connected to anything. I don't know the format of the signal.

The Range Rover Sport screen software doesn't support a direct input reverse camera, even though the connector is there on the back of the screen. (pre-2010MY)

You need a video interface (GVIF).

Or there is a hack to make the screen work in Range Rover mode, but that creates other problems, and also needs CCF changes to turn on the camera input.

Hi thanks for that, found out when I visited today car is actually a 2006 model and has no rear camera fitted
After looking at yt videos showing 2007 model with fitted camera being repaired (faulty connectors) wondering if the 2006 had the rv camera connectors under the spoiler area like the 2007 onwards /
looking if so it should be a matter of connecting just a camera and power that way, the display should be capable of doing the rest?

There was no factory reverse camera in a Range Rover Sport prior to 2010MY.

    Range Rover L322 had them.

Range Rover Sport L320 does not, and the L320 screen software doesn't support it either.

It's the same answer I gave you already.

Look I'm unfamiliar with what designation the 2006 sport is I just picked L322 from the list I didn't know it was the L320
I'll just fit a rearview wired mirror unit I already have to it or her, many thank all for your help

consider a new head unit or standalone reverse camera setup. if you are mounting a camera the spoiler isnt the best place if you ever tow, as you cant see your tow ball for hooking up
