There appears to be at least 2 after-market versions with the Britpart one about half the cost of a genuine and another cheaper version listed by many ebay sellers.
My brother's MY08 3.6 has a split left manifold which is in the process of being removed.

Update: He's ordered the manifold and injector kits from his local LR dealer for not a lot more than genuine ex UK.
How much did he pay? My son has been quoted around $2000 each side so we are also looking at aftermarket. LR_TRADE_PARTS_UK state that their ones have been upgraded to prevent splitting and are about $650 for both delivered. They are probably sourced from China so the "upgrade" could be on the add only. If anyone has used the aftermarket ones please let me know how they went. At the end of the day the genuine don't seem much chop anyway.

I heard but don't recall the cost but $2000 sounds a lot more than what I have in mind. It was sourced from his local dealer. That the part numbers haven't changed indicates that the new probably one won't survive any better.

    Aftermarket intakes TDV8

Has anyone any actual feedback on the aftermarket inlets? Anyone fitted them or compared quality. I am curious as I am about to embark on replacing at least the gaskets but would prefer to replace the intakes as well as a precaution. I tend to get "restricted performance" when towing the caravan which does not help.

The originals will be quite brittle by now.

what error codes are you getting with the reduced performance ? how many kms ? it may just be some loose bolts or leaking gasket, do you have oil dripping from engine ?

my 5 cents...based on my experience
all parts are made now in China India or other exotic parts of the world with in many cases massive quality drop.
Even Land rover sourcing parts are not that good as use to be.
I got mine rocker covers from China for 360 AUD for both and so far so good.
my mechanic was impressed with quality and rubbers seals .

Also some parts LR decided to "superseded" not available anymore .

and Installation was a .... expensive exercise.... but you can do a lot of preventive maintenance like oil seals injectors seals , new upgrated turbo oil feeds Mamba.
From my experience many times aftermarket seals are better quality then "the original"

check ie Germax as they make very good quality parts for many brands.
