    Drivers Seat Cracks - RRS/D3

The leather seat face on the drivers seat of my RRS has lasted really well given the vehicles 15 years of age and 220,000kms but the same cannot be said for the vinyl side trim on the outer side of the seat. The seat is basically the same as fitted to a D3.

Has anyone else suffered similar damage and what did you do about it? I suppose I could take the seat base to an auto trimmer for repair but I am interested what the alternatives may be.

    Thanks

My suggestion (and I did this a few times on various cars) is to look on eBay USA for a seat base from a passenger seat with matching trim.

    LHD passenger = RHD driver

Passenger seats usually have little to no wear on them.

Then just swap over the foam & cover.

Not the cheapest fix but it's worked out well for me.

Thanks for that - great advice - yes my passenger shows little wear except where someone had a pair of Levis on with the rivets and scratched the seat - a bit of coloured leather food will fix.

    Cheers

    Drivers Seat Cracks - RRS/D3

I have same problem affecting side vinyl. Thinking of a stick on vinyl patch sold on eBay.

Assume could remove seat base and give to a auto trimmer to replace the material entirely.

The seat base cover was available from LR but expensive. As is new foam.
