    Back to Range rovers after "oh what a feeling" New owner 2013 supercharged petrol.

    Hi All,
    Have been absent for a few years after leaving the Range Rovers and thought I would experience the reliability of a Toyota Diesel Prado. Ending up spending more on it than any range rover I have ever owned ( classic 87, p38 97, L322 03). Decided to ditch the Prado and recently purchased a 2013 L320 supercharged and loving the power and ride of it.
    Car didnt come with the owners manual so have a number of basic questions that hopefully some one can answer for me.
    1. positioning the internal centre mirror how does it adjust, seems fine for me but not when wife drives.
    2. Fuel tank capacity, ran it down where dash showed 8 km till empty and took a fill of 76 litres. Not sure how much is really left in the tank. Please advise
    3. Roof racks, any recommendations.
    4. Currently fitted with 275 40 r20. Understand there is an issue with going to smaller rims due to the brembo brakes, but concerned with these tyres for beach driving and wanted a bigger side wall that can air down to lower pressures. What are the recommended tallest size (275 55 r20?) if so is there any modification to stop rubbing?
    Is it recommended to do a modification to the heights on the air suspension. Any advise would be much appreciated.
    5. recommended engine oil ( 5w 20?) how much does it usually need at a filter/oil change.
    6 Transmission fluid change, know they are sealed for life but the vehicle has done 180K so probably worth doing a change. Recommended fluid and volume. will try and search on doing this as noted when underneath there are a few things in the way.

    Seems common to change transmission fluid around 75k - most put a new sump on that has a removeable filter. Lots of info on logistics on the forum. This does seem like an overpriced job when I got a quote though.

    We "play" on the beach with 275/45R20 - not serious but they get us by fine. By not serious I mean they are fine (good) out the back on the big dunes @ Stockton at 15 PSI. No doubt research with give you more options.

    IID tools very helpful.

    Thanks for the info, will see if I can pick up a Gap 11d tool somewhere and look at options for wheels and tyres.

    By "centre mirror" I assuming you mean rear view mirror between sun visors? If so its a manual one to adjust but they can be tight - you need a bit of force to adjust. You can run 265/50R20 tyres no issue and these have served us well on Fraser Island/Inskip point etc. Once you go bigger aspect or width then you can start to run into clearance/rubbing issues. And in Qld as a 50 aspect tire is 50mm taller than a 40aspect - thats as big as is legally allowed.
    Re heights a GAP IDD tool is well worth the money. Biggest PIA is suspension will drop to standard road height as soon as you hit 40kmh which a GAP or LLAMs can fix.

    Sorted the mirror ( moved easily once started).
    Out of interest what tyres were you running on Fraser and at what pressures did you got down to? Use to always run at 12psi in the other rangies but profiles were much larger.
    See the Gap tool is from Canada is this where everyone purchases from? is there a cheaper alternative to review the suspension with. ( used to use a program that Lucky 8 had) and loaded on a pc to adjust the air and calibrate the p38.
    Have a Vident730 scanner for most things but doesnt have suspension .
    What are other suggested mods that should be seriously considered?

    Perhaps not for your use, but Maxxis Razr are available in LT265/50R20. A brother has them on his MY08 TDV8 RRS that does quite a lot of gravel outback travel towing either his van or camper trailer and has destroyed quite a few other tyres on his travels. Only early days yet but he's hoping the tyres will survive better.

    I think it is generally accepted to change auto oil around 80,000 klms and possibly sooner if doing lots of towing or city driving.
    Many of us are using Penrite BMV as a substitute for the expensive Lifeguard ZF oil.

    I have been using BMV for just over 100,000 klms (changing around 65,000) and no probs whatsoever.

    I think you can use 19" wheels on the RR (my Disco has them and MY13) but not a massive choice in tyre selection compared to 18".
    Plenty of S/H 19" wheels available from those who change to 18".

    Am using Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac over all sorts of surfaces incl sand and very happy with them. Will exceed 70,000 klms and definitely buy again as they have 'upgraded' the tyre with stronger sidewalls amongst other things. Not that I experienced a problem.

    We used Nitto Terra Grapplers and ran them at 18-20psi.
    Re the GAP tool yes they're made in Canada but can save you heaps as you can see and clear fault codes. Which are normally a trip to a decent mechanic with a code reader.
