What year vehicle? What engine?
OK, I think i am ready to give up on my Optima Yellow Top Battery (auxiliary) . I have just returned from 8 months away, the Optima was isolated and pretty well fully charged, it helped jump start the car. The Cranking Battery has been fine since but i am struggling to get charge into the Optima. I used a Solar panel for a few days and have now had the Battery on a charger for about a week, resting it overnight. The morning SOC is about 11.8V.
Hate to let it go but wondering if there is more i can do??? The charger is only a basic one, not sure if the Battery may have Sulphated???
Appreciate any helpful options that can be offered.
What year vehicle? What engine?
Apologies,
2013 Range Rover Sport L320 - 3 litre Diesel. I have the Traxide System installed with the Optima Yellow Top as the Auxiliary battery.
I have just returned from 8 months away and have been having issues with the Optima Battery ever since i returned. I have had it on charge for a few days now, resting it overnight and resting charge is sitting at 11.8V.
see the charging of the Battery while driving, it doesn't seem to be charging well at all.2024-01-07 20.08.13.jpg 2024-01-07 20.08.31.jpg
On having a look at the Discovery 3/4 i have found out about an issue with the 80 amp Circuit Breakers in the TRaxide system, i think this could be my issue.
Traxide Issue? or DC/DC charger Issue or D4 problem
I will install an 80 amp Midi Fuse as suggested by Tim and see how the battery goes then but i think it is unservicable.
After getting years out of my first optima battery I only got months out of the replacement. It was replaced under warranty and i went with another brand
