I traded my Defender in on a RRS TDV6 a month ago. The RRS is a fine motor vehicle, and the driving position is surprisingly like a Defender. All the major controls are in the same place. I get exactly 10L/100k mixed city driving.

Because I really do intend to use it as a 4WD I insisted on the 18" wheels not the 19". Even so I worry about the tyres and am thinking that it would be nice to have a set of 17" Disco wheels with muddies for me to use when I am not in the city (any comments or advice about this anyone?).

I don't think the standard headlights are as good as they could be, but then I am used to having a pair of good spots.

All I need now is a snorkel, bullbar and winch, but I think that SWMBO will veto these.

The only real negative is I can't get Defender owners to wave, I have just about given up.

			RRS?

Great car, a dream on the road. I have had a TDV8 now for 6 months and it's a a fun drive with lots more "poke" than a D3 TDV6. The Dynamic Response pack makes a big difference in reducing body roll on road.

Off road, have done a 4 day High Country trip with ease and on Sunday did a Turon River to Sunny Corner trip - again without problems. In short off road it is just as capable as a D3.

As per the previous post, if you want to have a great choice of aftermarket accessories then a RRS may not be for you. I'd like to change tyres but the only off road tyre is the Goodyear MTR 19" and it's $522 each plus another set of rims. That said the standard fit Wrangler's seem to have been good enough off road, it's the nagging thought of a puncture or sidewall damage that makes you drive a bit slower over sharp looking rocks!

Yummm, RRS TDV8 is my dream car.

Does the RRS have the optional diff lock like the D3?

 Cheers

You can option the electronic rear differential. It interfaces with the TR.
