Just a little "nudge" to the thread as I was away up near Horsham over easter and we were driving in convoy (mate first, then me) and my mate hit a emu that decided it had had enough of this world. There was no way he could have missed it.
He had a steel ARB bar, and not a mark on it, if I'd had been in front it would have cost me a bumper, grill, bonnet, and maybe more! - plus all the hassle
I want to do quite a bit of travelling over the next year or so, and a bullbar is really a must-have.
Cheers,
Fraser
I am also wanting the Snorkel and bull bar for my 04 Td6. Currently traveling OZ and have allready done as many mods as I can but these 2 items still taunt me.
Some well priced underbody protection would also be nice aswell as a rear wheel carrier.

Hi Rim,
My mods are as follows, nothing to special but just enough to make it a bit more useful for touring.
-UHF radio with aerial mounted on a custom bracket attached to the rubber A bar.
-A bar
-Head light and tail light guards.
-Waterproof seat covers.
-Rubber floor mats inc boot.
-Cargo net.
- Additional 12v socket in boot that switches off with the ignition for a fridge.
-Tradesman roof rack with shovel/high lift jack holder, dual Jerry can carrier, custom bracket for max trax, sand flag mount and waterproof roof bag.
-PSI power chip.
-Goodyear wrangler silent armour tires.
-Scratches, dents, cracked lights and windscreen, broken external trim and 2 transmissions. She works hard.
I have priced a sump guard but it was to expensive to consider.
If only I could get a snorkel, bull bar and rear wheel carrier it would be complete.
Regards
Tunny
Amen to that Tunny. The one who brings those items to market first will be quite busy I would think. It will happen at some stage I'm sure - the P38's are now starting to become more common off road and the amount of gear for them is increasing. In a few years time it will be the L322's turn. As this shape body shape will have been around for 12 or more years by the time the L405 is released, there is a potentialy huge market for such items going forward. Anyone who has taken theirs off road know how good they are, and it is only a matter of time before more people take a close look at converting these into 'Bush Pigs'. In the next few years these will start to turn up with high KM, and buggered trannies dirt cheap.
D3 = Discovery 3 but the bar is actually a D2 bar, modified to fit.
I would love a L322 snorkel if you can manufacture. A decent bull bar would also be a nice replacment for mu aging factory one. Send me a PM if you ncan help with a snorkel.
Chris
Tunny,
Apologies for the tardy response..
Thanks for the heads up on your mods.. Where did you mount the UHF in the cab? Have you had any worries getting mechanical repairs outback?
Cheers
Rim
