Today I bit the bullet and bought an 03 model L322 diesel rangie. Boy have they got some go compared to my 300tdi Defender. It has a couple of minor issues like lcd displays faulty but that is about all. Now where has anyone fitted a second battery? There is not much room in engine bay? Jim

    Hi Jim

I also recently brought an 03 diesel Rangie and i love it.. the engine is very impressive and the car on a long distance interstate trip is in a leauge of its own

From what i have gathered most people fit the second battery in the back right hand side of the car in the cargo area. the storage box thing (to right of spare tyre) lifts out and there is quite allot of room under there for a good sized battery,

Hi JX2mad and con grates on the purchase. In my opinion, thats the best 4x4 ever made and you will have a ball with it.

As Dave posted, the only place to fit an auxiliary battery is in the storage box in the rear cargo area.

It’s a bitch of a job to get the cable from the cranking battery to the rear battery. It took me about 7 hours and you have to remove heaps of panels and the front passenger’s seat to get the cable to the rear.
