Do you know if it still for sale Erich? Not that I can buy it - I would get shot, but it would be a good vehicle to get your hands on.:)

Any idea about the "Breathers and bash plates"?
I am going down a similar route with my L322, breathers and bash plates would be lovely.
I set out to achieve the following:
1. Winch or Bull Bar.
2. Suspension Lift
3. Off road tires on the OEM wheels (with–in legal limits of +50 mm height and up to 50% wider then standard).
4. ECU Chip or ECU Remap.
5. Road Blaster torque converter.
6. EGR removal
7. Transmission cooler and Intercooler upgrade.
8. Expedition rack.
9. Dual battery.
10. Snorkel.
11. Extra fuel tank.
12. Breather kit and bash plates.
As an extra as i had to take all the inside out to recondition the panels im adding in the stereo.
So far the car has gotten:
1. Winch fitted
2. Suspension lift via IID Tool (Bluetooth), Part Number DA6413
3. Set of five OEM 18 inch wheels brought from Ebay giving a total of 6. At the shop currently getting 275 65 R18 Nitito Terra Grapplers fitted (32 in).
4. ECU remap by Bluefin from Super Chips UK
5. Nothing on the torque converter yet.
6. EGR will be happening over Easter along with a full service.
7. No idea where to start with the intercooler and transmission cooler. Had a look at a mates Nissan 180 sx cooler and it fitted nicely just trying to work out if it would be an improvement or not.
8. The roof rack is in the pipeline just trying all avenues locally before i order one from overseas.
9. The battery wiring is all ready to go just need a battery.
10. For the snorkel I am waiting on Lucky 8 to come out with something like they did for the P38.
11. As the spare wheels are going on the roof I was thinking of a tank in the aft wheel well that is shaped to allow for the EAS pump to still be there in relatively the same spot (on top of the tank), a modest size tool kit and spares parts.
12. Breathers and bash plates anyone?

Great idea re the fuel tank...I wonder if Dolium will look to produce something like this one day...
cheers
Thought of looking at Ashcrofts for the TC? They have 3 options (sizes) depending on the auto/engine combo you have and are pretty much the goto for autos.
Re point 10 - a snorkel - I've had a close look at doing this but the biggest draw back I've found is finding somewhere to mount a decent filter. The factory unit on the early TD6's doesn't seal well. I've always suspected this and it was proved with the destruction of the turbo - by dust - and the supplier of the new turbo saying 'that happens to all of them when they go off road, the factory air cleaner doesn't seal properly'
I'm yet to figure out what to do about this, but I'll be keeping it on the bitumen until I work out a solution.
7. Intercooler. get some live readings first, IMO the factory intercooler is very good, I have the bluefin remap and intake temps are only a couple degrees up when cruising - about 9 up when really pushed.
Trans cooler. I looked into this, there is space below the DS headlight to fit and angled 250x250 with a fan. Cut in a couple of intakes. Also look at the ecotune ecu upgrade for the trans, it changes the pressures in the converter and alters lock up points resulting in less heat.
Yes, factory intercooler is a good bit of kit - it may not look like much or look very big, but when you have one in your hands things are different - one of the best factory intercoolers I've seen - miles ahead of any Jap stuff that I've come across.
Fiddly ****er to swap out though...:D
Thanks guys, alot of interest in the subject clearly.
First up, when i find someone to make the fuel tank i will post where i got it done :).
Secondly, I was looking at the Road Blaster Torque converters. one of the gentleman just put one in his car so I will wait for the review.
Gav, for the snorkel, is there anything stopping you from putting a inline K&N. have a look at the very very crude paint drawing. That's what I am thinking sorta :).

Harlie, dreams of a better intercooler died pretty quick when i had a look at the temps :/. I had a look at the eco tune website and i couldn't quiet work out what it actually did, is there a part number, software number or point of contact?
As for the transmission cooler, any recommendations?
Keep the comments coming, I want to do this car once, properly :)
Point 12 - bash plate. Here

Think there was also a factory one as well.

Yeah, there's a big reason stopping me putting a K&N or similar in - I want to keep the dust out...:D. Plenty has been discussed on this subject elsewhere, but there isn't a chance in hell I'd go off road with one. Take heed if you do - you will be following my lead with a new turbo if you try that.
