Hi Guys,
On my trip to central Australia back in May I exprienced the v8 zf5hp locking into 3rd when it got hot whilst I was towing. After 10minutes it selected to a higher gear again with no problems this happened approx 3 times on the trip.
Has anybody had this with there l322 zf5hp ?

Currently I have just purchased a filter and gasket kit $70 and will be changing its oil which has had its 40k scheduled service during its life.
I also will be installing a tranny cooler inconjuction with the service. I have been told by a zf rebuilder to change the oil approx 25-30k which will give max life out of the tranny as the zf likes clean oil.

Is this over servicing or worth doing every 25-30k?
By the way I am looking at the Nylon oil as it meets the ESSO Lt oil.
