    Replacement battery for L322

    Hi
I am looking to find a replacement which is close to original specs, (850 CCA, 110 AH). My local Battery world has quoted over $400 for a Varta Din 110. By way of info my original battery lasted over 5 years, the non standard RACV is now on the way out after 41/2 years - (cost me $220). I would prefer to go back to original spec if costs were similar.
    Any suggestions out there ?

    G'day Peter,

The $400 price point sounds about right for the correct spec battery. This is a Group95R battery (850CCA, 110AH).

Both the Varta DIN110 and it's twin the Federal 696RMF are Calcium batteries from the same source. There may be others out there that match this spec.

I have an Amaron Din90 in my td6 (it's third battery in the beasts lifetime) and have had no issues with load or charge despite the fact that it doesn't match the absolute full spec. The owners manual (and RAVE too I think) specify that a 90AH battery is adequate for purpose.

If you have every electrical device imaginable on your beast. For example, is it an Autobiography (and I suspect not given it's a diesel) with all the top of line ICE stuff including the rear DVD system? If not, and it's just a normally configured HSE, then the DIN90 will serve more than adequately.

If you also want to run something like a winch from the main battery then the 95R might be the go, if not then it's not strictly necessary.

    Anyway that's my 5c worth.

    Cheers,
    Iain

SuperCharge MF88H (calcium with 880cca). seems to do the job, fridge often is left running in the back for 3-4 hours, car has no issues after that drain... low $200s
