Nothing like showing off the capabilities of these vehicles, most will never know however

Hi Guys,
I've just come back from the Easter Holidays which I went to the Vic High Country at the back of Licola. I was very suprised with the L322 4wd capabilities as I normally use a modified rangie classic. I went up some rocky terrian and thought it would really struggle but guess what it done it with ease. I heard the traction control bight in a couple of times but it performed very well even through some muddy bog holes which a toyota hilux was bogged. I had on the 19" goodyear MTR's I got off spudboy and they work well in the mud.
I had some funny looks from other four wheel drivers and even some guys from a 4wd club on the radio talking about the vogue in that terrian but with the excellent departure angles and traction control its not bad at all.
The only negatives I have is I thought the front shocks topped out a bit when the car is fully raised which may need a little more travel and using 19 inch tyres on rocky ground it can be a little rough at times compared to the 33" tyres on 15" rims on the classic.
By the way its a 02 Vogue (petrol)
Cheers Paul

Way to go. Great country up there, and I bet there aren't many L322's out there doing what you are doing. I have only tip toed off road in mine, but loved it. I want to get some decent tyres on 18's before I go too far. The 20" road tyres aren't the best in the bush...![]()

Good to see you're using the tyres out and about in some rough country.
L322's are a great car in the rough stuff
Cheers

Hey mate I have brought a L322 to take off road in vic as well get allot of people saying your going to do what with a l322. Its getting a snorkell fitted to it as I write this, do you have a winch fitted and if so where could I get one
I have a set of Maxxis 18's for it what u running
Currently I have two sets of rims. I used the 19inch goodyear mtr's on the weekend which performed well. If i was going to use it in the bush alot I probably look for tyres with a large side wall or maybe going back to 16" rim if they fitted over the brake calipers as it would give more tyres choice and a better ride.
I don't have a snorkel or winch as I have my old classic for heavy 4wd.
Cheers Paul
Any pics of the L322 in the rough Paul?

Hi Paul,
Seems like the Easter weekend was the time to be in the high country. I also took my L322 up into the area over the long weekend. Visited places like Mt Pinnabar and other parts around the Davies High Plains (photos to follow soon).
Some truly spectacular scenery and a wide variety of terrain. All of which the Range Rover handled with consummate skill and ease.
It's always good to hear that there are plenty of folk taking these things into places that Land Rover intended them to go.
Happy Trails,
Iain
Sounds great.... but without pics, did it really happen??
