Thread: TD6 tyre size

255/55r18 are not the standard size, they were on D2 and RRS. 255/60 is standard for L322 and D3/4.

Legally 265/60 is it and there's a lot more choice. and it doesn't sound like much of an increase, but park beside a car with standard tyres and they look very different.

I have just fitted 265.60.18 on my L322. Changed rims from 20" to 18" and got rid of the low profile tyres. Does not affect speedo calibrations.Jim

Stock L322 sizes are 255/60-18, 255/55-19 & 255/50-20. If my TD6 is anything to go on 265/60-18 should make you speedo spot on

Speedo's obviously vary a bit, on new 265/65/18's my TD6 shows 100 at 96 k's and on new 265/65/18's it is spot on. ( I use both, and save the 65's for outback trips)

Oops just realised I made a mistake, the first tyres lmentioned above are 265/60/18's not 65 profile.

Thanks for the info, I just noticed that Mickey Thompson does a 265/60/18 stz? Anyone got these? I'm still thinking that for $275 ea, the gg 2 are well worth trying in a 255/60/18, that's a big saving on other brands at $400+

OK I'm stumped what does "gg 2" mean?

I've gone through about 4 sets of Falken 265/60/18 on my 2005 td6 L322 but now am retiring the truck from taxi duties to work duties and need to go to something more heavy duty.

What is the largest tyre anyone has used with some chunky tread as well?

I have tried Cooper tyres in the past but they were absolutely hopeless - even the Falkens lasted longer and more reliable as well!
