I have recently purchased a MY06 TD6 Vogue. I'm curious as to whether there is a winch bar/bull bar available anywhere for these and I noticed that my tow hitch is present at rear of car but could'nt see any electrical plug in sight. I have a square entry for a tow hitch to go into and thats it. Anyone know if it has a sneeky plug somewhere hiding ?
There will be one to fit an 06 Just a bit different.
Factory bars are the only ones I know of that are " legal " in Australia. All others that have been fitted are NOT air bag compatable. Some fit a D3 bar but its not legal.
Dont think you can have both winch & bull bar together.
If you car doesnt have wiring harness buy a genuine one as it is all intergrated with the computors
As Gary points out there is a similar bar to the one he showed that fits the 06+ models. It has cutouts in the uprights to cope with the indented high beam lens on the facelift models. I thought I had the part number here but I can't seem to find it.
As for the towbar and missing plug, it sounds like you have an essential piece missing. Don't worry as lots of Range Rovers were delivered without it. Have a look at the rear fuse panel, on the drivers side rear. Look for a little box of electroni-wazardry as indicated in the attached photo. If you don't have this then you are missing the towpack controller and harness (with trailer plug). This little device integrates with the rest of the ECUs and makes sure that the RR EAS doesn't change height while towing and lets the ABS system know there's something attached back there.
Since I can't find the nudge bar part number just now I can't find the tow kit number either. Maybe another forumite has it handy. If not, I'l chase it down and post in the morning. You can find the kits on eBay as well, usually significantly cheaper than the dealers.
The towing kit for the L322 is VUH000030. This includes the loom, plug and ECU. It's pretty straight forward to fit. Haven't spotted one on the web but you may have better luck. They are available thru the dealers and indy's.
The actual ECU module (YWC000840) is not that expensive but since it looks like it's never been installed you're going to need all the loom parts as well.
