    TD6 owner seeks assistance

Some of you may have followed my postings re Shudder issue.
I still have the issue and will greatly appreciate some personal assistance.
If I cannot soon get this right the car which I purchased new and has 115 ks on the clock is going to have to go and that will sadden me.
Has anyone who lives near newport in Melbourne got a TD6 and diagnostic gear for their car?
I have a faultmate MSV 2 but licensed only for my car. I would like to compare some readings.

Can anyone give me manifold pressure readings at say 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm or thereabouts?
I see that the default pressure if the boost pressure sensor fails is 90 KPa and as I only have a figure near to that at all speeds it is worth looking at.
According to Bosch this "can reach 260KPa at 3,000RPM" .
At 3600 rpm I only have 113.4 KPa and based on Bosch wording I would expect more but may be wrong.

From that has the fuel injection pump been full tested. If you say is right it would seem as tho fuel pressure is a bit on the low side.

    Fuel Pump

Gary: Assuming that you are talking of the high pressure pump: I have the following figures which all appear to be OK.
    At 1930 RPM: 52198 KPa
    At 2300 RPM: 55269 KPa
    At 3650 RPM: 61410 KPa.
I am more directed to the Boost Pressure Sensor at the moment as the Manifold Pressure never seems to rise much above the default reading of 90 KPa and that is why I would like some readings from another vehicle.
Perhaps it never goes much higher but when Bosch advise that it can go up to 260KPa I was lookiing for higher figures than I am getting.

    At 1930 RPM: 107.5 KPa
    At 2300 RPM: 108.5 KPa
    At 3650 RPM: 113.4 KPa.
    Thanks for responding

Yes was talking about high pressure pump, sorry miss read post. Have no other ideas. Except that bosch's 260kpa could be a flash reading.

Hope you get it sorted soon and not lost to the breed

    G'day Uteman,

I'll see if I can get some readings from my HawkEye tomorrow for you and post them up. Sorry I'm not encouraged to go out in the weather at the moment so it won't happen today.

Not sure what values I can get in Live Data and it's been a while since I looked. I'll give it a try anyway. They're not listed in the manual either (typical!).

You're looking for Manifold Pressure readings at around 2K and 3K rpm, correct?

    Will let you know.

    Cheers,
    Iain

    Exclamation Normal?

    Hi Uteman,

Sounds like your numbers may be OK. Bear in mind that these were not under load (e.g. climbing).

    At 2050rpm 103.5KPa
    At 3100rpm 107.5KPa

At idle (795rpm) I get a reading of normal atmos which currently is about 100-101KPa. So I'm guessing that your beast is providing a little more boost than mine at the same rpm. This could be for a number of reasons.

After a little longer road testing this time I get a range of instantaneous readings but they typically average around these below.

    At 2100rpm 133.5KPa
    At 3000rpm 174.5Kpa

Climbing the local hill at a sustained (about 20secs) 2750rpm I get a reading of around 195.3KPa.

    Cheers,
    Iain
