Any faults recorded Gary? Thinking fuel pressure, if there's insuficient low side pressure the ecu should take steps to protect the high pressure pump.
If it comes good once you lift off its fuel. Lack of air would produce black smoke.
My TD6 seams to be developing a miss under heavy load or full throttle acceleration. Ease off the loud peddle & it gets better. Have only noticed it a few times but would like to get on top of it soon. L/100 dont appear to have changed & a new inline fuel pump was fitted not long ago. So what gives. Done 128,000 km
Injectors or pump or intank pump?? Whats the general consenses.

Have yet to run IIDTool & no black smoke that I've noticed. All filters done not long ago

Hi Gary, if you have it stationary in drive can you feel a very slight imbalance? if so sounds like the injectors or injector loom breaking down, have a look at the plugs on the injector for any arcing due to faulty injector.check codes first but i would be looking at injectors.
cheers

When i recall the saga that I had with my vehicle that started to misfire and the amount of work done by others and dollars spent before the fuel was checked and analysed are you 100% sure of your fuel quality?
My fuel had elevated moisture levels not to mention animal and vegetable oil.
Recalling. the start of problems the engine did misfire a few times before it eventually would not start.
Still running O'k on light & medium throttle. Its only misses when on full throttle up reasonably steep hill or with trailer behind. Still been slack and haven't checked with IIDTool
