    Steering angle sensor Live Data?

Not so long ago I received the GAP Diagnostic unit as I am having some problems with the car. With the live Data function one minute I seemd to be getting data from the sas then I did not then I did and now it has not shown any live data for a couple of weeks but rather just shows the same one data figure that never changes

Now I think its fair to say that the sas is no good but would anyone be able to add to this at all before I buy a new one and pull the car apart. I would imagine the data should be available at all times and always change when the wheel is turned as it first did

I realize the new one will have to be coded to the car with testbook or equivalent.. I am thinking maybe graham cooper

Dave, the SAS when intermittent or faulty causes all sorts of mayhem with other systems like brake force dist, Cornering stability control and EAS etc. Surely it would've thrown a code up on the dash by now?
I know in a D3 or RRS it'll shut down the EAS, stability control and reduce ride height etc when in any kind of fault mode.

Oh don't worry I am getting fault codes and hdc inactive / eas inactive etc... all sorts of weird things going on. I know it sounds obvious the sas is no good but thought id see if anyone else had something to add about them.. like they can do what mine is but its say possible a ecu etc could be the cause

Yesterday after each fault code clearing session I noticed the sas works again but once I turn the wheel too far or to a certain point in other direction it just locks on to one setting (1344k degrees) or something like that and always locks onto the same point (measurement)... anyway I guess its shot so ill order a new one tonight and let you know how I go

    Thanks for your reply
