Bottle jack is unsafe?
And a Hi Lift isn't?
No you can't unless you fit some suitable metal work!
Can a high lift jack be used on a L322? How?
On my 79 RRC I used to whack the high lift under the (heavier than standard) steel bumper - quick, easy, clean and safe.
On my 02 Disco 2 the bumpers are plastic and I have to grovel in the dirt to get the bottle jack under the car - slow, difficult, dirty and unsafe.
I am thinking about a L322 but from my research so far, it seems that changing a wheel out bush is quite a mission.

Hi Bilbo, I will not answer you question but give another solution.
Mercedes Sprinter bottle jack on a nice bit of wood is probably the safest given your conditions.

I have found the Aldi 12v Sissor Jack works fine on my RRS. The trick is to set the height of the vehicle as high as you can before jacking.

But the Aldi ones were a bit cheaper I think. I missed out last time they were around.

Hi Bilbo
I am in NZ. But I did find a brand new one on Buy online and sell with NZ's #1 auction & classifieds site | Trade Me and Australians are allowed to join. It cost NZ$100 including the rest of the Sprinter tool kit. The seller had dismantled 2 Sprinter based campervans and had these left.
It should be the same as the large VW van (LT35?) jack as they are just badge engineered.

Neatly packed in the spare tyre well, I have an original Discovery2 bottle jack and several blocks of wood. The jack cost me nothing, and was in the shed, used for car servicing ect. It is one of the 2 stage bottle types and has a total lift (travel) of 240mm, and stands 400mm high when fully extended so I do need the blocks. It has a cupped top like they are fitting to the merc one mentioned.
Start with the car at off road height, sit it on the large blocks, and it has more than enough travel.
