What do we put into the transfer case on a 2002 4.4L?
Volume?

Is there any replacment product? When I did mine in Jan this year there wasn't, dealer only LR part number STC4861. It is REALLY thick, much thicker than any oil I've seen.
it was $52 bottle. The oil for the Jag engined update is about $92, local dealer just handed me the wrong stuff and when I questioned the price he checked the VIN and got the right one.
L322 3.6TDv8 Lux
I changed my transfer case fluid today, the oil that came out wasnt that thick, it was fairly light I would say.
Replaced it with Penrite Pro Gear 75/90 Synthetic.
Got the recommended Castrol stuff from the Stealers without issue. It is quite thin - couldn't find a replacement for it at the time. IIRC the STC4861 is for the diffs.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Similarly, I've used Nulon synthetic 75/90 gear oil.
