    AM radio not working...HELP

    MY03 Vogue recently acquired.
FM radio works fine, Tv works fine, Car phone works fine.
AM radio has no out put, I can turn it on tune to the station of my choice but I get no signal at all.
If I turn the volume up I can hear....well just a little static.
Auto tune doesnt work, tuner just goes on searching and doesnt stop.
I have had a look in the back, left around the Sat Nav disc player etc, cant see any obvious wires that are bung or disconnected.

A few posts I have seen say that window tint stops the signal?
Any one else have this problem?

Forgive me if this is no help or obvious info, but my AM is shocking (but not completly absent) and ive always assumed it was a connection to one of the “body ariels“.

As I understand it, the L322 has something like 10 different aerials attached to the interior bodywork. I haven't studied it yet but some are gps, some are AM and some are FM (I believe there are duplicates). The problem is they've very long cable Runs between the head Unit and the terminals throughout the car.

I haven't been askew to work out in mine Which are the problem, but I assume One has a broken connection.

There are a bunch of them in the hidey holes in the rear cargo area, as well as behind the trim on the tailgate. I have some pics ill try and find.

All. Please correct me if I'm off track here.

I checked out behind the upper trim in the tail gate, there is a module up there connected to the rear glass heater, that looks to be the remote door locking, there are a few coaxial cables up there as well though.
Things are a bit complicated in the electrics department on these things.
I have read that tint can affect the reception......not sure how this can be???
    Ongoing investigation it is.

In my 02, the am ariel is the wire in the left rear fixed window. By removing the access panel inside on the left you can access the coax connection to the ariel. My am reception was also poor and I have replaced it with a roof mounted ariel (similar to the type fitted to early model Territories - not sure if latest ones are the same). Reception is now good.
    Hope this helps
