only problem off road is tyres
Hi All after having my 4.4 Vogue for a while I'm going to pass it on to the wife to do the shopping in, I'm thinking of trading into a 2011 or 12 TDV8 Vogue L322, any reason why I shouldn't and is there any difference between the 2 years models ? . I'm looking for one with some factory warranty .
I have read many things about them lots of good but some bad e.g.; gearbox , off road ability as this will be important being that I'm going to let the SVX Defender go . your comments good and bad will be appreciated

L322 3.6TDv8 Lux
send me an PM and your Mb and I will give you my comments in detail - but briefly - having owned a June 2012 built Vogue TDV8 Luxury for 6 months and just spent a week on the beach at North Stradbroke island I can say its a sensational car; Ofcourse if I hear another ****ing LC200 driver tell me I …"won't get far on 20's….(on the beach) " I will SCREAM.
We had a ball….ran "the 20's" (!) at 18psi with zero issues getting on and off the various beaches / into the camping spots off Main Beach etc.
We have the rear e-diff fitted to ours; an ARB fridge in the rear, running off a dual battery system (mounted in the rear battery space in the floor right hand side)®; Redarc isolator; an Anderson plug out back (which we use for camper trailer / van (hire) and to run the ARB air compressor. We just fitted a UHF in the rear fuse box area too. We fill fit Cooper LTZ tyres soonish as we plan to do outback trips in the future (Birdsville, Oodndatta Tracks etc) towing Bushtracker.
In the meantime - Beautiful, comfortable, sensational 4WD (off road)
Beautiful, sensational, comfortable 4WD (on road) … (!)
However, as I cleaned out half a ton of sand I did wonder if an old Defender might be more sensible at times!!!!
cheers
Chris

Chris, those Cooper LTZ tyres - I presume you're getting those in 20 inch size? As you know I'm doing a trip to the Kimberley in June, I was going to risk it on the standard Continentals but the more I think about it - Gibb River Rd etc - the more nervous I get.
I'm tempted to get a set of LTZs as well, what did you pay for yours and where did you get them?
Hi Greg, yeah I agree I don't think the Contis are up to it; I haven't bought the LTZ's yet - still pricing them like you. My main worry on the outback tracks is cracking a rim, but I think it will come down to taking it a little easier than if you were running say 18's, and keeping pressures a little higher than you would on that size or smaller rims, to try and make up for the low profile factor.
Off topic - I'm enjoying sunny Perth this week - noting 41c forecast for Saturday!!!![]()
Yeah, it's going to be a stinker for days, so we're heading to Rottnest on Saturday. If you get a chance and feel like a break from work give me a call 0416 139520 my office/warehouse/toyshop is in Osborne Park.
Ok so today I left a deposit on a Santorini Black metallic 2012 TDV8 Vague Luxury with 55000km, Jet leather and grand black lacquer interior trim, sight un seen , Dealer tells me that its in as new condition, he assures me that its is immaculate or he'll refund my deposit and airfare .
It wasn't my first choice in colours but the only other one out there was a Bronze one. I'm so excited but I'll be going away next week and won't be able to pick it up until the 24th of this month , that's going to be painful.
I bought the car from Victoria , My first trip will be to fly down and make sure it is as expected to collect it , then I'll cruise it back to Sydney via some dirt and twisty roads .
Does anyone know if my 2003 L322 wheel will fit on this one ? they are 19" .

Nice! Love the Drug Dealer look.... Seriously though, that looks awesome.
. If you need a lift from the airport let me know, or even if you don't mind me turning up to have a look at it before your trip home.

Thanks for the offer that's really nice of you , Dealer has offered to Pick me up, your quite welcome too come and have a look at it .I don't know exactly when I'm going to pick it up but it'll let it be known .
I really love it too, Black isn't my preferred colour for a Range Rover for many reasons 1st being the heat it generates 2nd the ability to keep it clean 3rd scratches and dents .
But I'm a sucker for black, I have a black Defender a black Land Cruiser which for sale now a black Bike and a black work ute, you think I would learn after that .
At least you know what you're in for.
Let me know what time you are going to be there, and if I'm in the area, I'll drop in and say hi.![]()
