    Front Anti Roll Bar Replacement

I have recently replaced front susp arms (upper & Lower) but which has improved things somewhat, however still getting annoying "creak" whenever I turn sharply or go over a bump. I find that the RH bush on the bar makes the same "creak" when I lever between the subframe and bar. The links to the front springs seem tight. It appears that I am looking at replacement of the bar as the bushes are bonded to bar. Can anyone confirm this and are there any traps when replacing ? Has anyone tried simply adding a bit more rubber packing under the clamp to tighten it up a bit ? Could be a short term fix as the LHS bush is still tight.
I guess it is worthwhile importing a replacement bar rather than buy locally ?
    Thanks in advance.

Looking at Microcat It appears to be a one piece bar with bushes.

    Bar - Stabilizer

    # RBL 000062 = 5A999999
    # RBL 500720 = 6A000001 - 6A209446
    # RBL 500721 = 6A209447 - 6A455643
    # RBL 500722 = 6A455644 - 6A999999

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for that Gary,
On further investigation I found that the bolts holding the cap over the bushes on my car were slightly loose, tightened them up - noise stopped. Not sure how long they will last though as had been used for quite a while while loose.
I had investigated importing the bar complete cost approx $370 vs $350 to buy here, the weight is the issue, freight was $150.
I have just ordered some other gear from Island 4x4 and have included the Bushes only which they claim is an OEM part at $23 each. It will be interesting to see what they look like, it may be they are shaped to fit over a lug or some such on the bar. I will add that info when they arrive. It may help someone else.

The bushes arrived, totally smooth inside. They are a genuine LR part. I am not in a hurry to replace them, as tightening up the clamps has solved the immediate problem. The question is do these have to be bonded in some way to the bar or just clamped tight ??

Interesting timing. I have been trying to find a clonk in the front LHS for a couple weeks now. Checked all the bushes, balljoints around the hub with a pinch bar, seem ok. Read this story, climb under and give the roll bar a good wiggle and bingo.

Same as you report, I was able to tighten the clamp on LHS about 5-6mm with little resistance, it has been like that since day one as there is now 5-6mm of shiny thread - RHS is clamped down tight ... noise is gone.

    Good find Thanks
