    Finally got a rangie

Flew down to Sth Oz early monday morning to meet with David aka spudboy.

We did the formalities of signing over his rangie to me after we had been to the bank and then I had the 1365k drive home.

In all the vehicles that I've driven,I have never felt more refreshed getting out of the rangie than any other that I have driven.

    A few pics are included.

    cheers

That is a great car. I knew the first owner when I was working in Alice Springs, and David kindly let me use it as a wedding car in Adelaide.

    Thumbs up Just gorgeous

Yup, just a stunning automobile. I have admired this model since the first one I saw. Almost had SHMBO convinced that we could afford one as well.
Forgive me for bringing this up but a very lengthy recent post on gearbox woes has left me depressed. Hoping for good news here! Are the last of this model run any better in this regard? Also is the smallish diesel performance ok in such a heavy vehicle, my only experience is with the TD5, 4ltr pet & now the TDCI 2.4.
I just don't want to give up on this dream!
    Once again, lovely car, enjoy!
    Regards Chris.

    Hi Bess,

Cruising at 110kph on the hay plains was effortless.Coming up from Cowra there are quite a few hills to climb on the way to Bathurst. It went up there like I had a v8 under the bonnet. This is compared to my old 200tdi disco.
More than happy with the performance.
Regarding the gearbox--Spudboy had it fully flushed approx 20 thou ago.So I'm hoping to get a bit of mileage out of it before it goes bang.
I've got the readies just in case the box goes bang anyway,so I'm not too concerned.
    Hope that helps.

    cheers

    Talking L322 bliss

Mate she sounds exactly what I imagine the L322 to be like.
I hope the RR Gods smile on you & the trans keeps doing exactly what it's supposed to. I have yet to drive one but just know if I do that I'll be a goner.
Did some searching last night, that's a lot of car for the money.
Come on Mr Lottery Iam not asking for a lot
    Regards Chris.

To Pedro the swift, pretty sure it is,havent checked the plate on it yet lol.

To Bess, yeah they are a bit of money, but Spudboy had the transmission fully flushed roughly 20 thou ago so I'm hoping to prolong the box with a full flush every 50 thou.Am hoping that will prolong the life of the box.Not sure if the transfer case was done so thats on the agenda when I get round to a service on it.

    cheers

It pulls like a train mate, especially if the engine ECU has been massaged as mine has. Flag me down for a drive next time I'm going through 'Gatha on the way down to Walkerville come next december/january, if you haven't acquired one by then. See you in the Woolies carpark.
