    Angry Immobilised!

    This one a bit odd?
Other day I decided to use dash buttons to clear some recurring/indicated faults that have been fixed; simply a side light bulb and brake pads.
Upon hitting the "reset?" button, the alarm sounded, start was immobilised and asking for 4 digit code!
I've rung the original dealer/seller of the car and no code recorded!
I tried a number of times, the battery disconnect for min 2 minutes( an hour) and there indicated on centre screen-- "emergency deactivation- wait 9.59 minutes" which doesn't count down, however I've waited the min 10 minutes to no avail.
I've today ordered the Rovacom modules for instruments and immobiliser, hoping that's the area?
I suspect some problem within the instruments themselves as Faultmate won't talk to BCM or EAS, which are only "connected"via K bus through the instruments!
Waiting for instruments module to first check that?

    Anyone else had similar problem?
    Battery fully charged.

I think battery in remote ok as it still locks/unlocks car, unlocks steering, etc.
I wish it was that easy, too!
As I had to go back west to work, the car awaits next trip home.
I pinched my daughters' Citroen C4 auto diesel to get back to my job! I'm a bit disappointed in it as I traveled only 250km and it said remaining range 1250km! Yes, 4l/100km and it has paddle shift no less!

Don. Why I suggested the remote was I had trouble with my old D2. The remote could lock and unlock the car, but wouldn't set the alarm, everytime it locked, the alarm would go off. I then noticed the red light on the remote was dull :-( Changed the remote battery and all was good. Why it had enough power to work the locks and not the security system is beyond me.

    Hi Laurie,
I'll change remote battery 1st thing when home this weekend.
I've now got Faultmate instruments and immobiliser modules so should be able to diagnose problem.
Faultmate won't connect to BCU and EAS ( nor immobiliser). I see that the OBD2 doesn't connect straight to these components, but via can-bus THROUGH instruments!
So Faultmate supposed to be able to read instruments and advise what can-bus connections.
Might fix more than one problem in one go?????

Well this brought to light also had main battery on way out, genuine LR battery stamped 08!
    Replaced with Supercharged 88H.
After obtaining the relevant modules from BBS for Faultmate, I found in BCU a "BC____" code! Put that in and "mobilised"; cranked!
Then immobiliser and engine ecu had to be recoded; ie, engine ecu--"learn rolling code" again.
    And away we go again!
I still cannot figure out why clearing faults with the 2 dash buttons caused this in first place; might have been in conjunction with failing battery?
LRA have no idea, nor could find on record this BC code; other LR repairers had no idea nor had heard of this problem either.

Nothing but praise for the Faultmate!

Great news , glad it was simple in the end, but still not cheap , but you now have the modules for the future. Flat or ailing batteries have triggered some very unusual codes and problems.
All owners should do regular checks after this tale, and the others that have been also reported here.
You should post the problem and result on Ffrr also
