Harlie, have you removed the bar ? are the bushes definitely bonded to it, or simply clamped tightly with the bolted clamps. As I said in my earlier thread, the genuine LR bushes are smooth inside and no fitting info came with them. (I am ok at present as tightening the clamps has fixed my noise problem).
    cheers

So did mine, but I'm not expecting it to last.

Yes they are bonded, the clonk is caused by the bush rotating in the clamp, the flat bottom section catches and when it releases it clonks.

The new bushes are not to be bonded (rubber grease, the 'new' design won't ever have the same problem), but the bar must be perfectly cleaned or the new bushes will be chewed as the bar rotates in the bush. A chisel seems to get under it, but the bar has to come out to get all the way around and clean it up.

At this stage I'm looking at the anzac weekend to change mine, I have both arms to swap over as well so do it all together.

    Hi Harlie,
Just wondering if you did the changeover and how well the new unbonded ones work.

No Mate - like you, I tightened it up and it solved the problem for a while. There has been the occasional clonk and I need to set some time to get it done.
