    Question Trapped rain water

    Hi gents,
    Just looking for a solution to this particular issue on my 2002 L322. After rain there is an accumulation of about half a cup of water trapped between the right rear door and the body. If there has been a lot of rain, then there is also a smaller accumulation between the left rear door as well.
    I open the door and it all just falls to the ground. I cannot see anything obvious as to the source. The door seals seem in excellent condition both on the door and the body. I do have a sunroof which shows no obvious signs of leakage. I have read here that there may be an issue of the sunroof drainage being a possible culprit, but again, cannot see anything obvious without stripping things down for a detailed inspection etc.
    Is this normal or do I have a problem. I can imagine corrosion becoming a serious problem if not rectified.
    Any relevant ideas out there would be greatly appreciated.

    I's a door alignment problem !

    The Pommy way to fix it is

    You can cure the water problem at the rear side doors by placing a piece of 50x50mm timber at the bottom of the door opening and closing the door onto it.
    You then stand on a pair of step ladders or similar and press on the rear top corner of the door with a bouncing motion using the weight of your body.
    This has the effect of bending the door frame almost imperceptibly but results in the door closing tighter on the outer door seal. Result, no water between the seals.
    Did one of my rear doors a while ago, which was really bad, never had a drop of water since.
    Door still closes as before.

    They reckon it works

    MFI who is a retired panel beater adjusts doors this way all the time. A bend here , a bend there.

    Interesting, My rear right door has done this since I've had the car. It lives under cover so it is rarely collecting water, so I've ignored it once I couldn't figure out where it was coming form - It looks like it gets trapped between the two seals at the bottom, maybe running down from above.

    My 2005 Holden Caprice did exactly the same. I took the door trim off and found the plastic had been cut. Instead of the water running on the inside and out the drain holes, it spilled over the ouside (door trim side) making a pool of water.. must have had a new electric window motor or something at some time. Once I fixed the plastic it never leaked again. Was an easy fix!

    Id assume the Rangie has the same setup.. worth checking
