Finally fitted the front bash plate today, ready for our 6000km Outback Trip - Saturday departure!
We had fitted the fuel tank guard shortly after it arrived, but I discovered (yes, I should have known better) that one of the two mounting plates (for the front guard) was missing....most odd. Our theory is that the trucking company that trucked the car from Melbourne to Brisbane back in 2013, used the front mounting points for the sump guard as tie down points on the truck and fractured the welds by ratcheting too tight.....so, the guys at APT Fabrications in Brisbane made up a nice new plate and bolted it firmly in place.
