A little bit of common sense, and a whole heap of fun!
do it!
Have taken mine through a few hairy bits a few times and ended up sliding sideways in mud a few times, nice chunk out of the bottom of a door, but hey its what they are made for
I have quiet highway tires and happily have done better in mild mud and rocks than defenders and disco 1 and 2's with big nobbly tires.

I've been taking mine off-road for the past couple if years. The front suspension went on me (luckily back at home) but the car was 10 yrs old so can't fully blame it on the off-roading.
Great car for it though, will keep 4wd'ing in it for years to come.
