very very unlikely but......
My car had sat for a few months unused, and the air suspension displayed the inactive, and when the codes were read it said the cross link valve was faulty.
After tearing down the entire air suspension system I found the springs in the solenoid shafts had rusted, as there was moisture in the system, indulging a litre or so of water drained from the main air tank.
I soaked them in wd40, and loosened them up, cleaned them as good as I could, put it all back together and apart from a slight leak in the front ever since (car goes down at front over about 2 weeks) its worked fine for the past 100k. Its in the back of my mind I will have to revisit it someday.

Hey, guys... First: thanks for the input from you all. It's really appreciated
Last: I used the car this morning and of course the suspension was inactive...but then...I got into her to do a short trip and the suspension lights came on; she levelled herself; she kneeled and she pumped up and down through the entire range. What happened? Search me, but I'm glad that it did!

I often find that in the garage the "Air Suspension Inactive" will never go away, even with a wheel reset, but 3 streets after I driev away from the house it does a reset while driving.
Maybe it just needed that drive after the battery reset.
Also - GAPIID Tool - should be a part of your future purchase plan.
With a 300km round trip to a service centre, this thing just might save your life and a lot of money, connects right up to your smartphone or tablet.

You could be right! Stranger things have happened. Anyway, after a 200km mix of driving today, the suspension is still working fine and I'm a happy L322 owner!
This is a good forum of which to be a member: people who are knowledgable; people who get straight in and offer help and advice; and above all...people who care. I usually stay clear of forums as past experiences have shown some to be the home of "keyboard warriors", abusive people and those that just have to say that, "My dog's bigger than your dog..."
