I took the RR for its first big road trip from Brisbane to Sydney return (down and back next day) to pick up a camper trailer. It's very different to drive compared to the Perentie.
The stability/handling, power and comfort is impressive. I felt pretty good after each full day of driving. Where as before I'd feel pretty knackered. I doubt I could have backed up the next day for a return trip to Brisbane if in the Perentie.
It takes on the hills with seemingly little effort. When towing the camper up a range, while it would drop back a gear or two, it didn't slow down.
I was pretty happy with its fuel economy. The car tells me (& I understand this is optimistic) I used 8.5 lt/100km going down and 11.5 lt/100km return with the trailer. I was doing APPROXIMATELY the 100 or 110 speed limit as much as possible.
I had no problems with the car to report, so I'm pretty happy all round. While the Perentie is a great vehicle which I'd like to keep, I can't see it would get used very much.
