@Big weekend - 700kms Saturday Brisbane to Rockhampton - without Van; and then back Sunday with the new 21 foot, 2600kg (empty) Bushtracker; On our trip the Range Roveraveraged 10l/100 (dashboard optimistic at 8.4); On the way home it was 17.3l/100 and Dash was 16.4.

Drive home was a great run; Towed beautifully and we used Sport mode, 6th gear based on advice on the BT Forum from LC200 owners who tow in 4th (6 gears) as 4th is 1:1. 6th on the RR is 1:1. Some LC owners have scan gauges that monitor gearbox and EGT temps and say 4th leads to huge reduction in temps and stresses and actually less fuel use. I found 6th of 8 was the best gear by far - rarely had to paddle shift to 5th (hills only) and it held 100km/hr everywhere although I did tend to stick to 95-100 on speedo.
