    2002 L322 2.9 diesel

I am looking to replace my '93 Classic with a 2.9Litre L322 Rangie and would like to know what the L322 is like as a tow vehicle, can anyone help?

The L322 is a brilliant tow vehicle when set up properly, the Td6 engine is a stump puller, unfortunately the GM 5L40E auto in it's original spec lets the package down. It's prone to pressure problems. Do a search here ! to read more about the auto issues. IF rebuilt properly and using a lower stall H/D torque converter you should have no problems as long as you use the auto properly when towing !

As Laurie said. Great vehicle, the engine is a gem, but the auto is a shocker. If you go looking for one, do your homework on it and make sure the transmission has been rebuilt correctly. If you find an example that has yet to have the trannie rebuilt, then I wouldn't touch it - it would be on its last legs. Either that, or haggle another $7K off the price to allow for a proper rebuild. Once done, you will have years of good times ahead of you.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
