    Expedition rack - fitting accessories

    Hi Guys

I've got a LR Expedition Roof Rack now and wondered if anyone else out there that has one (Chaybra, Healey88??) who has then added any brackets (ie I'm trying to find something suitable) for UHF, lights, awning and shovel.

Incidentally, I discovered the G4 Challenge vehicles had a custom wind deflector made and some guy in the UK is getting them reproduced. See here:

    cheers

For the deflector I have used some left over vinyl wrap, its not the prettiest set up but cuts down on the wind noise and helps efficiency (still ruined from the awning)

Dont have any close ups atm

I've managed to fit a few things to my rack.

    - LED light bar on the front. This is mounted with the supplied feet running back to the top bar and fixed with U-bolts. I found after fitting this I had less wind noise and didn't need a wind defector. Before fitting it though I had pretty bad wind noise on the highway.
    - Awning. Fitted with L-brackets running along the cross bars and fixed to the rack also with U-bolts.
    - Axe/Shovel mount. I found some really nice rubber mounts called 'Quick Fist Rubber Clamps'. Bought them through a fire trade store in bayswater. They cost about $6 ea and are very tight and reliable.
    - Rear reversing lights. I have 1x LED light fitted to both rear corners of the expedition rack. The rack came with mounting holes on flat plates.
    - Spare type ratchet strapped to top.

Nice and full when I'm out camping and looks great!

Just had a look at the Dolium website re their 'Quick Fist Rubber Clamps' - how did you then secure those to the rack itself??

    EDIT
Worked it out - you have the shovel against the tubular bar and the clamp goes around both.

    cheers

I have my aerial mounted at the front with a Z bracket I made which comes under the front bonnet lip.

Saw the pics, all looks good mate.
The wind noise is dreadful without something on the front!
